Area Sosta Ferrato is at the beginning of the dirt paths of the Capoliveri Bike Park, a true paradise for mountain-bike and hiking lovers, with more than 100 km of trails for every difficulty. By following them, you will discover small wild beaches, enjoy beautiful landscapes and cross the old mines of Capoliveri.

The historic centre of Capoliveri is 4 km far from Ferrato. It’s a medieval town built on the top of a hill. It’s characterized by several squares, churches and narrow alleys. This is one of the most alive municipalities on Elba thanks to its shops, bars, restaurants and to the events organized in the main square. You can reach it by using our shuttle service.

The mines of Capoliveri have been at work for centuries, from the Etruscan period to 1980. The territory is marked by the mining activities and by the old machinery, that make it unique. You will admire blue-, green- and yellow-coloured minerals that face the sea. It’s also possible to reserve the guided visit of the underground galleries and learn all about the miners’ story.

The two Ferrato beaches are 100 metres far from the camper area, linked by a stair. Their name is due to the iron working activities during the Etruscan period that left a lot of black minerals still visible today. These are perfect beaches for relax and snorkeling.

If you prefer fine sand and shallow water, you can visit Straccoligno beach, 700 metres far from Ferrato. It’s possible to rent beds, umbrellas and canoes here. You can also eat typical dishes and pizza on the seaside.

Malpasso beach is 300 metres far from the camper area and it can be reached by a steep path. It’s a very quiet bay surrounded by a dense vegetation that gives it a wild look.

Don’t feel like cooking on holiday?

No problem, restaurant Bel Mare and restaurant-pizzeria Tonisa are 700 metres far and can be reached on foot or by bike. They will delight you with typical dishes and great pizzas!
